For prismatic/pouch battery modules, steel strips provide high-strength mechanical constraints to ensure that the battery cells remain structurally stable under conditions such as charging and discharging expansion, vehicle vibration, etc., preventing displacement or deformation.
2. Fundamentals of Large Scale Manufacturing
The steel strip fixing solution supports automated and rapid bundling, solving the process problem of thousands of battery cells being directly grouped, significantly improving module assembly efficiency, and meeting the large-scale production needs of passenger cars.
3. Maintain feasibility assurance
Through modular design (battery cell → module → battery box → system), standardized modules fixed with steel strips can be independently disassembled and replaced, avoiding single battery failures that may cause the entire battery box to be scrapped and significantly reducing maintenance costs in the later stage.
4. Security redundancy enhancement
The rigid restraint of the steel strip can suppress the thermal runaway spread of the battery cells (especially for easily expandable soft pack/square battery cells), leaving design space for the thermal management system and improving the overall safety of the system.
